Tell me exactly what "per pupil" support is.

Feel free. I mean you picked that. Is it even defined the same way in each state?

Further, Scott Walkers $297 million cuts follow a previous $250 million he cut from the Wisconsin universities in 2011-2013.

Do you think this is enough cutting? Do you think the damage to the universities in Wisconsin is sufficient or should Scott Walker cut some more? Would you prefer if Scott Walker closed all the universities in Wisconsin entirely? Wisconsin could be the "no college education here whatsoever" state. How far?
Not only that, he wants to do away with tenure for faculty, and attempted to change the charter of the university to explicitly say it serves the interests of employers and corporations.

That's a wonderful way to drive away professors.

From what I saw the state was in deep poo especially on budget items before he made other cuts. Think of Greece and what they are now facing; real pain.

Nope, the problems with Kansas has much to do with its policies, pursued by Governor Brownback, who has cut taxes for corporations, trashed the budget in the meantime, starved its schools of funds (to the point of the courts ordering Brownback to restore funding). Not a great way to attract employers who want a well-trained workforce.

That's what I'm saying. Scott Walker has turned Wisconsin into Kansas. And now he's going to decimate education in the process. He's truly terrible at his job but he's got the Koch Brother's money so while the state goes down, they'll just buy splashy ads. It's like a magician - "Don't look over there, look at this shiny object!"

Good. Let the irresponsible Republican governors have their way and trash the schools. In the long-term, it will work against the party. And in the short-term the voters of the state will get exactly what they deserve.

This is appalling. Not only is it an attack on public schools, but it is potentially turning retail workers and factory workers into slaves (no more mandate to have at least one day off), opening up vast stretches of the beautiful forests up to commercial cutting, restricting local zoning laws on the lakeshore, and gutting the DNR.

This just Neo-Con venom towards anything considered liberal. This is the type of policy making is going to make Wisconsin a Democratic state for the next generation. Us FIBS (or FISH if you prefer) go to WI for the nature and peace and quiet. I guess WI will be for gas and food on my way to the North Shore of MN or the UP.
