Best wishes to President Bush!

I didn't vote for the man in either 1988 or 1992, and while I do not regret that he was limited to one term in office, I also do not regret that he won in 1988.

In 1990, he demonstrated exceptional coalition-building skills - he managed to get Egypt and Syria to put a combined 35,000 Egyptian and Syrian troops under the command of an American general, after all. And while those troops were pretty much useless on the battlefield, they were highly valuable politically. And with the goals of the war accomplished, he had the sense not to idiotically drive on Baghdad (had his son only shared such prudence).

And he stepped away from the failed budget-busting, deficit-creating supply-side nonsense of his predecessor (that he rightfully called 'voodoo economics' in 1980) and played a small role in the economic boom that would follow under President Clinton.

Liberals hate him because... well, because he's a Republican.
Conservatives hate him because he didn't put party dogma above reality.

I personally think he's an underrated President.

I don't appreciate his politics, but he did kick ass during W.W 2.

Last president to actually service his country. I don't consider what his son did serving.

What the heck is up with people who are obliged to perpetuate the randy senior stereotype?

Jeb reportedly said that his dad must be better because he was "telling the nurses semi-dirty jokes." I don't even believe that it's true.

Good grief.

Slight correction: Bush Sr. SERVED his country.

Bill Clinton SERVICED the country.

Mucho big difference.

Bush.

Operation Zapata.
The "Cuba thing".
Slaughtered thousands of innocent people under false pretenses.

The Devil has a special place in hell for him and all his monstrous ilk.

Bushes are THE poster childs for all that is wrong with the USA.
