Or could be a collector. He may have a FFL and be a dealer. Either way if the guy had legally acquired guns and was buying and selling them why is this a big deal? It's no different than a dealer selling cars or a store selling books.

Anti gun nuts CANT be nuts. By your definition as they do not collect guns

I don't know... On one hand, would he had FFL, having as many guns as he might have wouldn't be newsworthy, so I'd assume it would be at least mentioned in the news if he has one. On another hand, without FFL, he'd spend only on FFL registrations fees some hefty amount. The article did not mention if those guns were modern or collectable old ones. If majority of them were Mosins and SKSes, he probably had gun collector's license and could buy and sell guns without checks online (not sure if it is legal in CA though, where every gun transfer must go through FFL)... He could've purchase those guns before moving into the state, then he wouldn't need to register them.

Probably hoarder, bought the whole stock low and waiting until it grows in price and demand.

That would've been an incredible investment. LOL.

I remember when we could buy 550 rounds of it for $11 all day long because there was such great supply and demand was low.

Mystery Man Found Decomposing In Car Had More Than 1,200 Guns, Cash, Underwater Car « CBS Sacramento

Lash and Nebron were together for 17 years and she believed him when he told her that he worked as an undercover operative for multiple unnamed government agencies, Braun said.
“The story itself sounds totally crazy but then how do you explain all this?” Braun said. “There’s no evidence he was a drug dealer or he stole these weapons, or had any criminal source of income, no stolen property, all the stuff you’d look for.”

In other words, he made up a story so he wouldn't be in the dog house for spending all their income on guns.

according to the fiancee's lawyer, the guy's gun collection is worth more than $5m.

The gun stash is interesting just because the townhome is located in one of the most exclusive and Liberal areas of California, literally 5 minutes from the Pacific Ocean.

But the icing on the cake is his space alien/covert agent story! And the plot has thickened with the disappearance of another woman (a friend or associate of the fiancee) who bought into their alien/spy story and was supposedly with the couple when the guy kicked the bucket in the car.

The fact that he had twelve vehicles stashed all over LA, including an SUV that could drive underwater tells me this guy was no " prepper" or generic hoarder. His manner of death sounds like poisoning as well.

I wonder if we'll ever get to hear about the toxicology reports or if this one will just go away quietly?

The girlfriend left his body in the car, went on a trip with a friend, and was surprised to see him still in it when she returned??? That's when she went to a lawyer.

Who does that?
