Between this and all the reported guns going off "accidentally" lately, it would seem better that most people NOT have a CWP (yes, I realize this person MAY have been OC.. I am making a general point) and carry open - that way you know who to stay away from.
When someone buys a gun to protect themselves, the most likely persons to be shot with that gun are as follows, in this order:
1) That person, usually when trying some fancy quick-draw he say in a Clint Eastwood movie, though he'll never admit to that. "I swear," he'll tell the paramedics, "I was just cleaning it and the darn thing just went off!".
2) The spouse/mate. Heat of the moment. Second degree murder.
3) A child of the person, because the person stupidly left the weapon unattended and loaded where children could get to it.
4) A spouse/child/friend. Someone is coming home late, or coming over, or knocking on a window and BANG, the terrified bearer of arms wets his pants and then shoots at a scary figure or sound he thinks is there to do him harm... but it's someone harmless, who is now dead. Manslaughter.

17) An actual bad guy who needs shooting.
This moron got off with a superficial wound to the wrist. He should consider himself lucky.
PS - Any fool who is so inept as to accidentally shoot themself has demonstrated that they are too incompetent to possess a deadly weapon and should not be allowed to own one. Sorry, you go discharging bullets haphazardly in public because you're an inept buffoon, then you no longer get to play your 'I'm defending myself!' game.
Actually he is eligible, under Section XVI, article 30.554.17 due to the fact that at that time he was actively engaged in his own war on terror.
