It's his money. I wish he was around when I bought my laptop. I can buy a gun for less than $100. Heck yeah, I would trade that for a brand new laptop.
I wonder if they're going to do a background check and fill out a 4473 for every one of those guns turned in? Probably not.
It seemed to work in Australia. So he question then again becomes: "what is wrong with US?"
A background check would defeat the purpose.
It would be nice if this was sponsored by a corporation such as Apple or Sony. Plenty if good PR in that. And to deal with the prob of "crappy guns" being turned in, the quality/price of the "free" laptop could be based on the "lethality measure" of the gun.
AND for bonus PR points, they could recycle the metal and make "special edition" "gun computers." Maybe not laptops because of the weight, but desktops would be pretty sweet. They could charge a premium for a well "protected system" and for "limited edition." Maybe even set up a charity and have some of their funds go to their new nonprofit.
Are you reading this Samsung and Acer??

Reason: addition
Turn in rusty non functioning gun for new laptop, sell laptop to buy a decent piece. I like it
Use the new laptop that you traded for a rusty single shot shotgun, missing a forestock, to check out gun trader on-line and find a new gun. Then sell the laptop.
