YOUR countrymen dying not mine, and it is like you don't lost a millisecond of sleep over it. Backward people.
Most of the people murdered by guns in this country are criminals in a dispute. Then you have people murdered in home invasions when they didn't have the means to defend themselves. Since I am not a criminal in a dispute with another criminal then I am more likely to be victimized. I am unconcerned with what criminals do to each other. People who choose a gang/ghetto lifestyle took the risks themselves. People should be secure in their homes and have the means to defend themselves when outsiders seek to invade their realm of security.
Anyone who thinks guns are the sole determining factor in homicide rates obviously has never seen a Zatoichi movie...

Your concerned about massacres? Sorry but mass shootings are statistically irrelevant to the homicide rate. Bombs are plenty effective to induce mass casualties, I found that out first hand thank God they were poorly made. FYI you should not worry about bombings in your day to day life either.
Name the number of massacres resulting in injury and death from bombs. Do the same for guns. I'll wait.
Nothing wrong with you having your own opinion, but it would be nice if you could listen to all the facts before coming to that opinion. Unfortunately most of you gun rights advocates just conveniently ignore all the facts that don't agree with your position. Kind of like you ignore the entire first half of the Second Amendment, that you love so much.
It makes it really difficult to have an intelligent debate on this subject.
Operative clause: "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
The operative clause is the actual protected right; kind of the 'meat and potatoes.' The court wrote: "1. Operative Clause. a. 'Right of the People.' [used 3 times in Bill of Rights] ... All three of these instances unambiguously refer to individual rights, not 'collective' rights, or rights that may be exercised only through participation in some corporate body." (p.5).
Prefatory clause: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State."
The prefatory clause is the lead-in that “announces a purpose” for the operative clause. The court stated: "The Amendment’s prefatory clause announces a purpose, but does not limit or expand the scope of the second part, the operative clause. The operative clause’s text and history demonstrate that it connotes an individual right to keep and bear arms"(Heller law syllabus p.1).
The court also stated: "The Amendment could be rephrased, 'Because a well regulated Militia is necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.'” (Heller law syllabus p.3, emphasis added).
Note: “syllabus” in law briefs is not like a college course summary, but “a short note preceding the text of a reported case that briefly summarizes the rulings of the court on the points decided in the case."
Come for our guns. Find out how many people die. The law abiding dont kill people perfectly reflected by the White homicide rate. YOu try and take the law abiding's property? Good luck. It wont be pretty.
