He wants to tattoo a bar code on them and place government scanners all over the nation? Talk about the mark of the beast.

It would be a good idea if the people staying here illegally were actually willing to keep their visa residency information current. But why would a person who wants to stay here illegally do so?

If we're going to go through all that trouble, they should also hand them a package to deliver while they're at it.

“We, as a people, are intolerant of ragged garments and empty paunches. We are a people who have had no experience in physical tribulation. As a consequence, the ill-clad and destitute Irishman is repulsive to our habits and our tastes. We confound ill-clothing and destitution.”
– The Christian Examiner, 1848

“The average Catholic Irishman of the first generation, as represented in the [New York State] Assembly … [is a] low, venal, corrupt, and unintelligent brute.”
– Theodore Roosevelt, ca. 1885

Nativism Yesterday and Today – The Case of the Irish |

The Irish as Spreaders of Vice and Disorder

“The vice and drunkenness among the lowering laboring classes is growing to frightful excess, and the multitudes of low Irish Catholics … restricted by poverty in their own country run riot in this … as long as we are overwhelmed with Irish immigrants, so long will the evil abound.”
– John Pintard (NYC merchant and philanthropist), 1841

How are the above quotes different from our attitudes towards immigrants today? Is it different today because some immigrants from South America and Mexico are brown and not white?

Where I live in Maine, migrants from South America cut broccoli fields. They work their asses off.

They also can walk into any ER with any illness or injury, minor or not, and get treated for free. In many areas, ERs are filled with illegal immigrants (or others without insurance) with illnesses like strep throat, clogging up the hospital and its resources. Their kids can get free lunches at school. They or their kids may be eligible for a free college education soon or some day (thanks Obama). They tend to commit a lot of violent crimes in the border states where they are most prevalent.
