York dispatcher brought standoff to safe conclusion — Bangor Daily News — BDN Maine


YORK , Maine — Police credited a York dispatcher with subduing a man who was threatening to commit suicide Saturday night in York Beach Square.

York police said dispatcher Nathaniel Higgins received a call around 7:30 p.m. from a man threatening to shoot himself if officers approached him.

Yet another job well done that basically goes unrecognized. Why are the hater threads so much more interesting to people? Are we just hard wired for conflict? I don't know but I would love to see just one hater acknowledge that here are good police officers out there. Just one hater, please restore my faith in humanity.
