You are failing in your quest as the self-appointed spokesperson of the NYPD. Police aren't above the law and this isn't a police state. People aren't against police and the rule of law. People are against deputized thugs and abuse of power. If the law enforcement community clean house the public will welcome them with open arms.

Again once the evidence comes out we can judge if the cop is right or wrong. No reason to argue with people that are self appointed experts who have never done the job. There is a lot more information that will come forward that will justify this PO's actions.

I think the lesson in this for the cops is:

1. Make sure the person you are taking down actually is guilty.

2. If not guilty then make sure the person you are taking down is not a celebrity or does not have sufficient wealth or political power to return the favor.

So you are okay with a cop doing that to you while you are standing around?

When the information comes out then lets see where this goes. I am confident the cop did what he had to do.

Then why have measures been taken to make sure crap like this doesn't happen? Why have officials been trying to change the way the department does business? Why is this story still going when you were so adamant that nothing would happen? Why is it still bringing attention to the department?

Sounds like the department had acknowledged it's wrong doing and is trying to change... And by that, I mean appease the media and change nothing.

Of course not. However if the PO had a reason to do so I would understand. Lets see what happens when this goes to trial.

Nice back pedal. Kind of different from the loud mouth cops can do no wrong rhetoric you displayed earlier in this thread.
