Like I said, sorry but she did wrong, period Vigilantism is wrong, period. If I can't go out and off the people who've done ME seriously wrong, then she can't either.
And again, what if the next yayhoo who decides to take the law into their own hands, kills an innocent? Do we really want to go back to the days of the blood feuds?
This isn't a "blood feud" …
It's "self defense" by the community as a whole …
The murdered pedophile will never harm another child … The State was unable or unwilling to do what was apparently necessary to protect innocent vulnerable citizens from a predator … So ...
To me, it sounds like the court system knew what she did was just, but they have to give out some sort of punishment which is why she was only given 3 years. Any other cut and dry murder would have been a life sentence.

Uhhh yeah, you didn't bother to read did you? Yeah, this wasn't a blood feud but all it takes is for a couple of innocents to be gunned down by some hyper vigilantes who get off with a slap on the wrist.... and it could very well end up in that kind of thing. That's just one reason why civilized society doesn't condone such acts.

"Vigilante" justice is rare in America in part because our Justice System generally does at least a passable job …
But … Not always …
Consider, e.g., the case in San Diego in 1995 … US Navy Cmdr. (ret.) Danny Palm chased down and executed John Harper, Jr., the "neighborhood bully," shooting him nine times with his .45 ... after Harper came to Palm's front door and said, "You and your family are as good as dead …" …
Harper had been terrorizing various neighbors for years, but received only minor sanctions -- fines, probation, etc. … In the last case, he had actually rammed a woman's car, but was able to plead down, and received only probation … Palm had testifies against him, resulting in the death threat made by Harper …
Did Palm do "the right thing" … ??? He did the NECESSARY thing … Or should he have just waited until Harper carried through on his threat … ???
If you don't like the laws, work to change them. If you don't like the judges and lawmakers, you work to have them removed.
Yes, vigilante justice is rare, but it should be nonexistent. There was a time when it was rampant...eye for an eye type thing, and whole families got involved. "You took out cousin Bob, now I'm gonna make you and yours hurt worse" and back and forth it went.
We, as a civilized society can't condone vigilante behavior. We must work to change laws that don't work.
Besides, as I've said earlier, it's really not right/fair for the rest of us. I, myself am a CSA survivor and I've been injured in other ways and have, in my past, harbored a lot of hate and anger against the perps....I couldn't just go out and "off" my offenders....so where does she get the right?
