A single mother-of-five 'under enormous pressure' who stabbed a convicted paedophile to death as she confronted him over child abuse allegations was jailed for three-and-a-half years today.

Sarah Sands jailed for killing her paedophile neighbour for just three-and-a-half years | Daily Mail Online

I greatly commend her, the guy had 24 previous sex convictions and he was still allowed to reamin free? Even someone doing something like this in a third world country would have been hung/shot, why the hell do we let these people live? Why do we care so little about protecting our children that repeat sex offenders are even allowed to breath?

Epsecially being a mother of 5 it's understandable she would feel unsafe. I'm glad she did what she did. And honestly until governments start actually caring whether children get abused and actually START DOING SOMETHING I fully support her and others like her actions. One thing I do disagree with though is the:
Quote:
The judge stressed that Sands's case was 'unique' because she had lost control rather than taken the law into her own hands and acted as a vigilante.

He added: 'It is necessary for me to stress that such a verdict would not be available to a defendant who is guilty of a considered act of taking the law into her or his own hands or who is involved in vigilante type conduct.
Much as I support her actions there's no way she just "lost control", she technically most certainly took the law into her own hands, but when the govt refuses to do anything to ensure the safety of its people what can you do?

Child molesters should never be allowed out of prison ever, they will never stop molesting kids.

Yeah, sounds more like she dwelled on it for ten days and then got a knife and went hunting. It wasn't a spur of the moment she caught him behind the hedge fondling little Billy and happened to have the kitchen knife as she'd been in the middle of cooking and she spied poor Billy out the corner the window and in her haste forgot to put it down. Don't get me wrong, world's a better place for what she did but murder is still murder.

No matter how hard I try, I find it impossible to agree with the course of action this woman chose. She has nobody to blame but herself for the position in which she now finds herself.

There's simply no justification for not burying the body somewhere where it would never have been found.

I don't blame her for killing the guy, but she has no one to blame for her imprisonment.

Her only crime is not having enough money to hire a slick mouthpiece.
