The base salary for a NYC MTA bus driver is $67,462 but 5 drivers made between $134,953 to $153,173 in 2015
MTA spokesperson said that the service is short of drivers and some have to work OT. [that's a lot of OT]
If they are smart they will save up for the future medical care they'll need. Bus drivers have some of the worst health problems because of the type of job they have. Sitting in one place without much moving is a silent killer.
I don't get the problem. It's a high stress job in a very expensive city. Is the problem that the didn't go to college but are still earning a good living? You can always apply too.
I say good for them as long as they are actually putting in the OT.
Here in Mass. we often hear of scandals that rock public sector Gov. jobs where some people are scamming the system and falsifying time cards/ reports to make sure they get paid for work they didn't actually do. They often do that to boost up their retirement pensions.
I think it is great if someone wants to work an honest day and not illegally manipulate the system.
Let them work and reap the benefits I say.
What is it about cost of living that cons just cannot grasp? It is one of THE most simplest of concepts yet time & time again they fail miserably at it. Even a CHILD understands this.

We should all feel better now and not dwell over how much money NYC bus drivers make because they will all die due to not moving around much. Yay!!
Why are you bringing socialism into this? It's a proven fact that bus drivers deal with negative health issues because of the job of not being able to move around. Same goes for people who sit behind a desk all day. Look it up.
