The man is simply part of the problem.

You don't know what you're talking about.

The shooter is dead. Let his name rot in hell with him. He wanted to be famous according to his online rantings. Screw him.

This attitude is part of the problem. The shooter is the "gun nut", not the police.

Thinking people know these mentally defective people want publicity.

Non-thinking people are irresponsibly encouraging others by reporting his name.

Well, I suppose the man can't be the model of perfection like your very own Ross Mirkarimi. You know, the sheriff who intentionally releases aggravated felon illegal aliens so they can prey upon the good citizens of San Francisco like Kate Steinle?

One has to wonder how such a man can be elected sheriff, but your posts provide clear insight to the buffoonery of your average San Franciscan and who they place into public office.

Anyone who uses the term "gun nut", like anyone who begins argument with insult, immediately demonstrates they have no rational argument for controlling gun use. Hence opinion, logical fallacy and plain nonsense is substituted as argument.

The results, as demonstrated yet again in this topic, speak for themselves.

Exactly right. Of course they say the guy's name internally. The sheriff is trying to do his small part in not encouraging others to go on a rampage for notoriety.

Mental illness and guns will naturally be the main areas that people discussfocus on whenever there is a mass shooting. However, I think the media is just as responsible as either guns or mental illness. The media is essentially Robert Downey Jr. from Natural Born Killers as far as mass shootings are concerned.

Jim B.
Right-wing media generally is not mentioning it. I can't speak for the left-wing networks or the mom & pop's that take their cue from the networks.

I read a story about this campaign to not say the name or show the face on CNN over the weekend. They went into detail about how important it was to not motivate others to do the same. They praised everyone who is participating.

Oh and then they mentioned his name and posted his picture.
