Typical media reporting. They completely fail to mention that this woman could just as easily have fallen into a swimming pool.

Quote:
A witness told KCEN's sister station 12News that a woman was in the waiting room of a medical office. When she reached into her purse to pull out some paperwork, a gun fell out of her purse causing it to discharge. The round went through a wall and hit another patient in the hip.

Bobby Pressley was in the waiting room when it happened.

"Everyone was sitting in the waiting room and there was a gun shot. A woman dropped her purse down on the counter and it shot through the wall and shot another lady," said Pressley.

Guns don't just go off like that. Someone or something applied pressure to the trigger. My guess is the gun wasn't in a holster. I blame the woman, not the gun.

A good majority of modern firearms are drop safe. What good is an empty chamber?

Guns don't go off like that unless you have no clue about guns.

Seems like a trained CCW would know better than to handle her weapon like that. But maybe she wasn't carrying legally.

Personally I have never encountered a situation at a doctor's office that required the use of a firearm, nor do I envision one. So I do not carry there.

Nice agenda there sport but a better example would be that an irresponsible lady like that could have been messing with her cell phone and struck someone walking in a crosswalk.
