Sanctuary cities are sanctuary from the law. All the benefits, none of the responsibilities.

As long as the state law doesn't run against the state constitution or US Constitution why wouldn't they be able to?

That's a very good question, Happy. I know that in matters such as zoning ordinances, the county is allowed to be more restrictive than State law, but not less so. To be honest, IDK. But I'd like to think that LE will be all too happy to comply with the new law, so it won't be a problem. Right now, as in other places, LE is accused of "profiling" by those who have a big financial stake in making sure illegals come here to stay. And I don't mean "the corporations" or even the farmers; I mean La Raza or as I fondly call them, Las Racistas; and the NAACP.

My city is a sanctuary city because Metro did not feel the need to be another arm of the Feds. We have the largest percentage of illegal immigrants in the nation, based on many studies.
