Having worked, myself, part time as a prostitute, through my early 20's right up until my early 50's, you have this tunnel vision that every john is looking for a young girl, or young boy. Yes, there's any number of male prostitutes as well.
I'm now 65, and what kind of prostitute would I be looking for, which doesn't even exist? Someone around my own age, or 10 years younger. No interest/attraction in young girls or young boys. I'd be purchasing prostitutes today if I could find some hookers in their 50's! And where do you find them?
Even working as a prostitute in my 30's/40's, many welcomed the idea of having sex with someone older and more mature/experienced.
What did I used to hear from my customers:
"My wife isn't into oral sex! She refuses to even consider the idea!"
"I haven't had sex with my wife for 5 years, I'm no longer attractive to her!"
"My wife deems my sexual desires kinky! She's even told me to satisfy them with a hooker!"
"I really think my wife is encouraging me to see hookers, so she doesn't have to have sex with me!"
And, yes, Gay male couples are no different from Hetro couples. I've even heard this from members of same-sex unions:
"I haven't had sex with my male partner for 12 years now. We've become nothing but roommates, like much of the Straight couples!"

So, something like this between consenting adults is so illegal and immoral, but gay marriage isn't? Well... alrighty then.
In any case, if the modern Westernized woman wasn't so picky, perhaps some men wouldn't feel the need to resort to such practices. Personally, I'm not trying to go through hell and high water just to impress some woman. If a man can't attract a woman who he is also attracted to by just being himself, who can blame him?
Because the prostitutes ARE the victims. Go talk to any police and social agency. Or people like my daughter who work in rehap shelters for prostitutes, some forced to work as young as 13.

This is inline with my personal experiences. As I said, more than half of my circle of friends have been subjected to violence. As far as I know, zero have reported to the authorities out of fear of being "outed" and prosecuted for prostitution.
I agree with you. Prostitutes are often victims. But what people don't realize that the victimization is often the direct result of our own policies leveraged against them. Your daughter and my friends are victims of the very legal system that should protect them. Once again...
* I do not support street prostitution. No different from selling alcohol on the streets... illegal
* I do not support child prostitution. No different from child labor... illegal
* I do not support forced/pimping of prostitutes. No different from forced against will labor... illegal.
* Prostitutes should be offered a chance to report to authorities. No different from any other citizen.
* Prostitutes should be working as employment "at will" and have the freedom to leave the work at any time. No different from any other job/employment situation. A legal pimp of a legalized Nevada brothel does not have the right to hold any of their employees against their will. No employer should have the right to hold an employee against their will.
These prostitutes are people. Plain and simple. Your daughter and my friends included. As such they should be privy to the same protections offered to all other citizens of this country. This is regardless of whether you agree with prostitution or not... they deserve to feel safe and free to seek authorities in a time of need.

My experience is that such a story is false.. Males very quickly lose their appeal on the street and go from hustler to hustled...
In the end the city of west hollyweird came down with the edict ..shut this crap down.. Screwing in the bushes and back alleys of Blvd... Which we did..and it moved to outcall

Note: All of my posts are around the prostitute... not the customers/johns. As far as I'm concerned, the priority is to protect the prostitutes. As I mentioned, some countries make the sale of sex legal while making the purchase of sex illegal thus criminalizing the john but not the prostitute. This would alleviate my primary concern that a prostitute should have every right to go to the authorities in a time of need without fear of prosecution or worse.

I definitely agree. Street prostitution is a major problem.
Certainly your daily life experience exposes you to the worst of the worst in prostitution. However, there exists women who enter into this line of work voluntarily and are not "damaged". I know a few. I linked a former cop that turned to escorting and became an advocate in a previous post. THere are numerous members/advocates of sex worker rights organizations that also fall into this category.
I'm not going to argue statistics (they don't exists) but I just want to point out that they exist.... they are just people working an unconventional job.
Well, what do you do about those men that solicit prostitution online? They'll just go online more, ask Josh Duggar about that, and don't tell me that Ashley Madison doesn't have prostitutes or any other kinky dating sites.
You can't get rid of the world's oldest profession.
Our nation's laws are based upon Judeo-Christian principles. The Founding Fathers made that quite clear when they wrote the Declaration of Independence.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed," (emphasis added).
Except the god that is mentioned in the Declaration Of Independence is not the Christian god. Jefferson was a deist, and gave short shrift to the Christian supernatural mumbo jumbo. He was also a crafty fellow and knew the wording would fly right over the heads of the Christian contingent.
