I wasn't talking about the student in question, though this should hopefully give her some good experience as well as I'm sure she did something in all of this (though still the officer was well out of bounds). I was talking about the kids who are protesting in favor of the officer being wrong.

And they did not "call the cops" the officer was a resource officer assigned to the school. Just about every high school and middle school has one now.

Under normal circumstances no one would have protested. The number is significant.
No, it's not. Kids at that age will protest anything; it's a way to get out of class.

So he just walked into the classroom out of curiosity?

The poster meant that it wasn't a 911 call that brought the officer to the classroom. Based on how we operated, I imagine it was via a walkie talkie.

Who cares? He was summoned because whomever was in charge of the class lost control.

The best thing for a teacher to do these days is nothing. Just sit and hope the students settle down at some point and you can teach. This teacher tried her best and had great patience. I commend her on how she handled this to save her job.
