I went to 6th and 7th grade in Pocatello.

I'll try to take a picture for you the next time I see them. Seriously, ugh.

See them all the time here. See a lot of different flags on trucks too. Battle flags being popular. There was a clown up the street from me that had a big SS light king bolt flag in the window of his house, facing the street. I have no issues with the battle flag, if used in proper context, but there's no making Nazi stuff tolerable. That SS flag was up for about two weeks, then he took it down. J think the landlord made him. It needed tore down.

He's a typical "white power" looking idiot. Shaved head, 50 pounds overweight, swastika tats, skulls in fritz helmets and such. Still, as ...distasteful...as I find Nazi symbols, I wasn't gonna slash his tires or anything. There is such a thing as going to far, in escalating things.

They were all over here in the south for a while (coupled mostly with confederate flag stickers) , I think some law was passed banning them around here, not sure...but they have gone away for the most part....Thank a deity!!

No, you just wish to deny him his constitutional rights.

We still have the First Amendment. It either applies to everyone or no one.

Saying it needed tore down, and actually doing it are different critters. I don't believe I was trying to advocate denial of rights, Matter of fact, didn't I say escalation would be wrong, regardless of ones issues with certain symbology? Nazi displays are a peeve, for me, but I'm not going to escalate over it, or deny anyone their rights.

Being disgusted at something, doesn't deny anyone anything, nor do expressions of disgust.

Why even fly the confederate flag in the first place? Pretty sure we're not 13 colonies anymore (I'll double check) . So it could only be one other reason...

Confederate flags are flown at country concerts and displayed on people's trucks even here in NJ sometimes. It would make a lot more sense if this incident happened in the South because people there are super proud of that flag and their history, but most people today don't fly it because they're racists. It's a pride, heritage, and country thing. I don't necessarily agree with it (though I support people's right to fly it) but it doesn't mean people who display it are racist.

BTW the flag never represented the 13 colonies. It has nothing to do with that. If anything historical it's a Southern civil war era thing, but the flag that displayed only the original 13 was/is the Betsy Ross flag. I love that one.

Personally, I wouldn't put a symbol of hatred - or a symbol that is perceived by many to symbolize hatred - on my truck - if I had one.

Hate attracts hate.
