A 6-year-old boy is facing a three-day suspension from school because he pretended to shoot an imaginary bow and arrow during recess.
The boy's parents, Matthew and Martha Miele, told WLWT-TV their son was pretending to be a Power Ranger. When a teacher at his school noticed him pretending to shoot a bow and arrow, she took the boy to the principal's office.
The young boy's parents were then called and told the boy was being suspended for making threatening gestures.
"I have no tolerance for any real, pretend, or imitated violence. The punishment is an out of school suspension," a letter from the principal read.
Okay, why not make a rule saying "No more pretending."
(Yes, I am being sarcastic.)
And no matter what views one has about "pretend shooting" of any kind, suspending a SIX-YEAR-OLD for THREE DAYS for shooting an IMAGINARY bow and arrow is just ridiculous.
I think the principal should be suspended. Permanently.
Clearly the principal has no business being in the child development business. Suppressing a six year old's imagination is a good idea ... on what planet?
Probably not one of the hundreds of schools that have an archery team, too.
Well, seeing as how if this child had been blown away by a trigger-happy LEO for 'pretending to shoot an imaginary bow & arrow' - a development which would have been promptly declared perfectly reasonable by the usual suspects - then perhaps the school is effectively preventing this kid from being the next Tamir Rice.
Even if you agree with all the political bs going on in schools today, 6 years old is a bit young to be applying it IMO. Zero tolerance is many times just an excuse for not having to use good judgment. I can't help but wonder just what 'lesson' little Johnny learned from this particular farce.

Cmon..does every thread have to fit into an agenda?

I can't remember the last time I saw someone holding up a store with a bow. On the news....even less.
