The baby was over 8 pounds. Kind of hard to believe that she didn't know she was carrying a baby that big. It seems a little odd to be pregnant for nine months and not know there was a child inside her body. I'm assuming the baby must have kicked occasionally, and most women go through other physical changes too. No morning sickness? No swelling? No cravings?
Live and learn! I'm amazed that this has happened to some women. One minute you're in labor (and not realizing it) and boom, instant baby! I don't know if I'd have the energy to take care of a new baby at that age. Wait until the child is a teenager!
The only "symptom" that seems impossible to miss is the distended abdomen. Okay, if the woman is obese, I suppose she could miss that too. But this woman doesn't look that heavy. I've heard this kind of thing before:
"Some people just don't show."
"I saw her two days ago in a bikini and her belly was as flat as a board! Today she gave birth to a surprise 8-pound baby!"
I mean...how does that happen? Where was the baby? As a slim woman who had three 8+ pound babies and looked VERY pregnant every time myself, I just don't get how some people's babies are invisible.
I think people that give birth at 9 months and say, "I had no idea," are full of it short of the morbidly obese people. The reason -- anyone who has had a baby knows when you get to the last month the baby moving can get downright painful. Full body movement and you can literally *see* feet and elbows shoving and pressing against your skin. There's no way you are at that stage and don't know something is up. I mean, what, do you say, "Oh, that thing pushing out from inside me is just one REALLY big gas bubble." I remember pressing back against my babies when they were getting ridiculously pushy and they'd press back against the pressure. How can you possibly not know?!

No, she's pretty thin and she's 47 so she thought it was menopause. There was a video with one article I read. She and her husband thought the belly was her gaining weight and that she was "turning into her mother," in that regard I guess. They said they found it odd that the "fat" was only condensed to one area of her body though and also thought it was weird that the belly was hard when you pressed on it and not flabby like normal fat. Seem pretty clueless TBH given what they said...
Baby is super cute though and they seem like good people.
After twenty two years of marriage, and I assume assuming painful infertility?
