No, the casino has their own rules. In this case, the player didnt win the max, but deserved much more than her 80.00

The real question comes down to who regulated the gaming laws in Washington state. I assume that this is a Native American casino. So, I don't know who sets the regulations.

The max payout was 20k, the display showed 8 million. You think she should get 8 million? Then explain to me how you can make a car dealer sell you a car if the newspaper makes a mistake and lists the price a 3k rather than 30k. Or tell me how you can legitimately keep 10,000 from an ATM when all you asked for was $20.

If the Max payout was 20K, that's what she would,/should have received in a logical world

As if I needed another reason not to go to casinos. So...you're telling me that casinos are possibly CROOKED?

*shocked*

That is not how it works in Nevada, the system computer tracks every result -that trumps screen display. These kind of incidents are fairly common, just google it and you will see.

You have a very naive understanding of casinos if you believe that to be true.

A gambling casino never loses. If it was profitable for everyone to gamble casinos wouldn't be in business. If the casino can regularly draw a large crowd cash is flowing like water inside, especially when they have a theater for shows and the like. A big name hotel helps as well.
Casinos rake in cash and casinos pay taxes.

Any real casino could pay her off and barely feel it.
The point that I was trying to make was related to this statement:

It's a loss, they can claim it on their taxes.
While I am sure you understand how this works, you would probably be surprised at the number of people that I come across that believe that being able to deduct something on their taxes somehow means that they somehow don't actually pay for it.

From the linked article:

Quote:
Casino officials said even if the machine showed $8 million, the max payout is $20,000 based on the amount of her bet. And the payout for what her screen showed was just over $10.
If the machine were working properly, her bet would have won her $10. How is that your "logical world" view says she should get $20K?
