US tax payers "bail" them out. They start making cars in China now? Too bad i don't buy GM...

General Motors plans to sell Chinese-made cars in the United States beginning early next year, a first for a major automaker, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

GM, the top US automaker, will introduce the Buick Envision, a midsize sport-utility vehicle made in Shandong province, the Journal said, citing unidentified people familiar with the plan.

The Detroit-based company initially intends to import between 30,000 and 40,000 Envisions to the US market, where demand for gasoline-guzzling pickups and SUVs has been strong amid low fuel prices, the newspaper said.

They will sell here. As Americans get poorer and poorer, they buy the cheapest items they can find. Walmart is a perfect example of this wealth shift -- from the US to China.

Most Americans are trapped economically. With middle class jobs gone, there is no money to buy expensive stuff. So they have to buy the cheapest products available. These days China is the king producer of cheap products.

Wait until we start flying Chinese made Boeings. That 9am phone call to GM’s CEO can’t come soon enough.

There are already more Buicks sold in China than in the US. They have been building them there for a few years now.

Is this similar to when GM started selling Japanese cars in the late 80's and re-branding them Geo?

Where is UAW in all this? Shameful. They are supposed to represent the workers yet you don’t hear a peep from them. In the old days you’d have pickets going up before you can finish spelling GM. Now they are in bed with the corporate. And wait until you see the price tag. Not a dime cheaper.

And I am supposed to feel guilty for driving a Toyota??? Toyota builds many of its cars in the US and those not built here are made in Japan by first world workers earning a living wage. At least with Japan we are dealing with a level playing field and as I said most Japanese brands build the cars here. Toyota, Honda and Nissan are big parts of the US auto industry. You could argue that they are really not all that foreign at all anymore. Now a so called US brand wants to build cars in China where there is exteme low wages and almost no environmental controls and we are supposed to just be ok with that. How does this support US jobs? Did the US taxpayer not just bail these bums out??? We should have let GM go bye bye and let militantly unionized Michigan get what it deserved. Chinese built GM cars, pathetic just plain pathetic.

Hush Money: UAW Can't Really Object To New Buick Imported From China

The end is near.

Hyperbole much?

1. Middle class jobs are not gone, see occupation breakout from BLS jobs report
2. There is money, see consumer spending and retail sales statistics for Q3 2015
3. How do you measure "trapped" economically? Given your batting record on above I'd be interested to hear
