Dead from 15 different countries to date - a reminder that the perpetrators are on the losing side of history. Being a seething outlier while the rest of the world moves on is nowhere.

Paris attacker named as Omar Ismaïl Mostefai as investigation continues

One of the deceased is Asta Diatkite. She was the cousin of Lassana Diarra who is a French footballer that played in the match against Germany. Like several members of the French national team, he is a Muslim.

Lassana's message on Twitter include the following:

‘In the climate of terror it's important for all of us, who are representatives of our country and its diversity, to speak up and stay united in the face of a horror which has neither colour nor religion.

‘Together we must protect, love, respect and peace. Thank you to everyone for your updates and messages. Take care of you and yours, and may the victims rest in peace.’

Does anyone think they wanted to hide who they were after the attack? No, they were very proud of what they were doing and most certainly wanted the world to know who/what was behind it.
Given that why wouldn't you carry identification especially understanding that by blowing oneself up might just make an ID impossible?

Very true but you also have to remember the basic idea of fighting a war is to use the military to kill people and destroy things.
Sadly our leader doesn't want to do either of those things on the scale that it takes to WIN.

That is such crap. You really think that the many Muslim Americans working for the FBI, NSA, and CIA to hunt down and stop terrorists are passively supporting terrorists? Seriously? Who do you think is infiltrating these groups? Freckle-faced white guys named Sean?

But putting aside the many American Muslims who work for the government or LE agencies: What about the ones who are just going about their daily lives, paying taxes, raising their kids, working at their jobs, and paying the bills like the rest of us? I mean, I'm not doing anything to stop ISIS--are you?

"Passive support" is just a convenient excuse to be racist. Racism is anti-American.

Were you passively supporting the IRA's terrorism in the late '70s?

Were you passively supporting terrorism by Neo-Nazi groups and the KKK over the past few decades?

Did you passively support Timothy McVeigh or Dylan Roof?

Unless someone has firsthand information that would help stop an act of terrorism or bring a terrorist to justice, there isn't much a regular citizen (not employed in law enforcement or intelligence) can do.

I think many of their leaders ARE speaking out against terrorism. But does anyone think social pressure would really dissuade a would-be terrorist?

I've never run around speaking out against neo-Nazi or anti-government terrorism. I'm pretty sure any neo-Nazis or would-be McVeighs within earshot would not be swayed.
