A Vietnam veteran was assaulted and humiliated by active duty veterans, WTF is wrong with these Marines? Why were they not arrested.
They did not believe him and tore his medals off his chest.

Wow. Poor guy. I wonder what punishment they will receive. How stupid they must feel now.

He needs to get their names and relay all this to their commanding officer. That'll make sure they never do anything like this again.

Sharemeful behavior, unbecoming of United States Marines. They should all be Article 15d, at the least.

They should be dishonorably discharged and arrested for assault.

My guess is since American veterans generally don't wear decorations and ribbons in civilian clothes as is the custom in other countries the Marines thought it was a stolen valor case and took vigilante action. Now we will see if their convening authority thinks they are worth saving as Marines

Regardless if they think it was stolen valor or not, these punks have no right touching him or removing his medals. I hope whatever current rank these pathetic toolbags have is revoked immediately. And if that veteran is indeed an actual decorated soldier, they offer a public apology.

Exactly this. Most other country's vets remove all that regalia upon leaving the event they've attended. Most certainly wouldn't fly from airport to airport wearing them. One thing to be an active serving member wearing ribbons but wearing civilian clothes and hanging the iron while out and about is not encouraged in respect for the reverence of those medals.

Having said all of that; some simple questions asked in a respectful manner could have resolved any confusion THEY were suffering from.

Now let's hope somewhere in their chain of command there is the son of a Vietnam vet who will take appropriate action for their having brought dishonour upon the Corps.

This is a disturbing trend of active duty types deliberately targeting legitimate veterans to the point of assault and public humiliation.

Idiots wanting to be that 'hero.'
