Good points about the lack of interest by Black Lives Matter, Al Sharpton and BO.

That aside, it should be "no immediate charges". Evidently, the DA is still reviewing the matter. I hope the shooter is charged and convicted of lesser charges. Allowing people to execute car burglars may seem like a good idea or be "hard core" to others, but my bet is that it could lead to escalating violence if another old school concept is applied:

-My son, nephew etc, though he was doing wrong, did not need killing
-Now it is blood for blood.

The above concept was practiced in Appalachian areas until about the 1920s.

I hope the mods intervene soon. It's obvious who the trouble makers are that turn every thread into a flame war.

It's a shame some people's lives revolve around race.

I agree, dont steal and your risk of getting shot is highly decreased.

No, bottom line is that another human being didn't have to die. Stealing is not a capital offense. Arrest, jail, trial, perhaps prison.

Going by the article, I'd say the shooter should be charged.

There was no threat from the kid. Did the shooter even give them a chance to leave? Doesn't sound like it.

What he said wasn't untrue though. If he wasn't stealing, he'd still be breathing. That is the case in the vast majority of these cases that we've seen over the last couple of years. I'm not saying selling cigarettes or giving a cop attitude should carry the death penalty... but in most of these cases, if the deceased had simply followed the law and/or followed police commands, they'd still be alive.

Had the shooter been white, there would be riots already, calls for justice, demands for prosecution.

Instead, silence.
And if the kid had been white, the black man would never have seen the outside of a jail cell again.

For what reason? That article was sparse on information and you are jumping to conclusions unkless you know more about this story. What happened after they boy was confronted? Specifically was he acting in a threatening manner towards the victim.

This is usually the (often overlooked) bottom line.

When you choose to violate the law in however small a way, you make the world less safe for everyone. Including yourself.
