There's some question as whether they've done some of the things they've claimed. They've claimed attacks and provided photographic evidence that turned out to be fabrications. The Nigerian army has been implicated in supplying BK with weapons.
There are also charges that the army or Western military services or both have been carrying out the attacks on the Shia in Northern Nigeria and attributing them to BK.

No, terrorism probably won't ever go away completely. The odds of a given person being a victim in a terror attack are astoundingly low, however.
There are murders every day, but the murder rate has been dropping for 25 years. I think the elimination of this sort of thing entirely is a bit too lofty of a goal.
