What bothers me is the Muslim community is pissed off that the dispatcher said the suspect looked "of Middle Eastern" descent. WTF??? How are police supposed to put out a BOLO?? It's bad enough they aren't supposed to say if a suspect is black, now they can't say Middle Eastern because the 911 calls said the woman was dressed in a hadjib, or however you spell it.
This PC foolishness is just that......foolishness!!

Wouldn't it be more descriptive to simply say that the woman was wearing a headscarf? "Middle Eastern" isn't necessarily descriptive in the way the caller intended--a Muslim can be from Africa or Asia, and a person with olive skin and dark hair and eyes isn't necessarily Muslim or Middle Eastern.

The 911 calls were describing what they were seeing. A woman dressed in Middle Eastern garb. What else was the dispatcher supposed to say over their radio? Don't shoot the messenger (the dispatcher) and don't shoot me for posting. I'm not a member of the Middle Eastern/Muslim whatever, that is pissing and moaning.
Oh, dear God! Someone who looks "middle eastern" pretty much rules out the Japanese, white people, Eskimos, Native Americans, black people and blue-eyed old ladies in wheelchairs.
Get over yourselves, liberals. Noticing facial features, nationalities and skin color isn't racist. It's human.

Thank you, people.
A women that the tv station interviewed for "reaction" said in part, "use hair color, clothes to describe....". Hellooooo.....how can you describe hair color when the woman (assumed) is covered head to toes in Muslim garb???? The dispatcher DID describe clothes....."Middle Eastern" clothes!!! WTH is LE to do???
The chief apologized that no offense was meant. Of course no offense was meant!!! WTF.
Maybe if she wasn't wearing a head cape, the caller could have provided a more accurate description.
