Awful and sickening. Look at his sick, smug grin in the mugshot - what an animal.

I wonder if they have a motive in mind (not that there's ever a good reason to behead your grandparents in front of small children they watch). Article had scant info. I guess in time more will come out.

Why do you assume this 20 year old was on meds?

Or a third option: It's possible that he had untreated mental illness.

Couple years ago another man beheaded a co-worker in Oklahoma. I don't know if he killed her first before starting on her neck...

Our country needs to address all the people with medical and especially mental illness, who are not receiving treatment, and maybe just maybe things like this could be prevented. You have a lot of people who have untreated mental illness out free in public who are a potential danger to themselves and the rest of the general populations.

One reason there are homeless people in this country is that a group of protesters made enough noise to cause asylums for mental patients to close and other facilities that housed those with mental problems. The protesters insisted these people needed to be free to live as they pleased and be treated. Unfortunately, they live as they please and do not take their medicine, because they don't think they need it. This is only a brief summary of a much larger problem. Everyone who is homeless is not mental, but a large percentage are.
