Spring ISD students robbed, assaulted at bus stop | abc13.com

Quote:
SPRING, TX (KTRK) --
Five middle schoolers in Spring were robbed after getting off the bus.

Wells Middle School principal sent home a letter saying it happened near Beneke Elementary School off of Briarchase Drive on Wednesday at 7 pm.

The letter says four people with guns stole the students back packs and assaulted them before taking off. Fortunately the students were not seriously hurt. They were checked out by a doctor.
Neighbors tell us this is marks the third robbery of children in the Torrey Pines neighborhood in just the past month.
I really don't get it. What in the world are they getting from young teens backpacks? Ipads? Tablets? What an awful group of people to do this to kids.

Phones, money, weed, tablets of both the computer and medicinal variety.

Other middle or high school students.

Scary.

Why were these kids getting off a bus at 7pm?

I don't know but it could have been a late bus for after school activities.

Yes, probably the electronics, combined with the fact that they represent a very easy target. Same reason someone knocks over a liquor store. We're not talking here about the sort of people who committed the Great Train Robbery.

The miscalculation, though, will be in the response to the target. The fact that children were robbed at gunpoint while getting off a school bus has already resulted in disproportionate publicity, and certainly is or will similarly result in more public pressure on law enforcement and more law enforcement resources devoted to nabbing the perps. So in their target selection, they made it more likely that they will be caught in the long run.

But like I said, we're not talking about rocket scientists here...

I'm not surprised. We live in a society where robbers get their baby picture shown on CNN for 6 months and the cop who caught them gets put on trial.

So how about a description of the Perps so we can keep an eye out for them as the kids exit the bus next week?

Probably same group, probably highschoolish age kids from the area and the cops probably have an idea who has been doing it.

When caught and I quote...."My kid would never do this, they're being framed....."
