I always keep an eye out when I have my 4 lb Chihuahua outside.

She's smaller than the fish these birds catch...

Aside from the injury, I'd have loved to be kidnapped by a bird when I was a kid. It'd probably be a more fit parent than mine ever were.

Growing up, my family had a tiny yorkie that my mother never leashed or kept an eye on, she just let her run around loose inside or outside 'so she can feel free'.

Finally when I was 10ish, I was getting lattes with my mother, and our dog bolted outside the shop onto the street and I heard a yelp right away.

I found her inside a leashed rottweiler's mouth, like its chew toy She wasn't hurt at all, thank goodness.

*Any* creature under 15 lbs can easily end up as a predator animal's snack.

Eagles can take fairly large animals (goats and wolves) but they drag them, not carry them away. They can only carry away a few pounds, except the Harpy Eagle can carry sloths and monkeys (and maybe a small child here and there). However no one wants those talons digging into them.

yeahhh...I know it's true because, because I seen it with my very own eyes and it was a baby, a baby in a baby carriage...yeah, that's the ticket...a baby in a baby carriage holding a spaniel dog, yeah, that's what it was and the eagle took them up, baby carriage and all into a large tree on our property and made a nest out of the baby carriage and raised the baby and dog as it's own and taught them both how to fly and hunt with it...that's exactly the way it went down.

In fact, many eagles are top or near-top predators. Why would a large eagle not attack a small child?
They are pretty much the orcas of the air, in that they virtually have no natural predators. That said, eagles primarily eat fish, and sometimes carcass. It would take a lot for an eagle to go through the hassle of attacking a human child.

Two different stories. The hoax involved a story about a Golden Eagle and a child in Montreal. This story is about a six-year-old who was attacked by a Wedge-Tailed Eagle at Alice Spring Desert Park Australia. The child had been playing with the zipper on his hoodie, and the eagle became agitated. The park has verified the story and has removed the eagle from public display while they are investigating.

Yeah. Looks more like the eagle got annoyed and attacked, and not so much that it was going for a meal.
