At least four people have been shot in the US, two of them killed, as people clashed across the country over bargain items on a record-breaking Black Friday.
Shoppers appear to have largely stayed away from the madness in retail stores this year, instead opting to venture online for the best post-Thanksgiving pre-Christmas deals.
But the opening of stores late on Thursday evening invited chaos and trouble early on, with several shootings in mall parking lots. Footage inside stores such as Walmart and Target also captured tense shopping scenes.
It makes you wonder how these people would act if there were food shortages or something really important? If they act like this over stuff you don't really need.
If they picked me up in a limo and let me shop for free I wouldn't go.
I guess none of these morons think to look for sales throughout the year and buy before the holiday season starts.
Nothing new. People are crazy, which is why I never shop on this day. Last night driving home from my parents for Thanksgiving, I drove past a Walmart. The parking lot was literally filled to the brim with cars. No thanks.
Every year fights break out, people get trampled-and its not crazy enough, now people are treating Black Friday like the Wild West. Its disgusting. Its like that movie the Purge, and I think some people use the chaos to vent thier lifes frustrations. Couple this with herd behavior and its not a shopping day its a riot.
I spent 7 + years working in shopping malls, and while it would always get rowdy I never recall it being this violent. Society has regressed and degraded. How sad.
That shouldn't happen at a Macy's. Walmart I get but Macy's is supposed to get a better class or people there.
How so? Macy's probably attracts the same kind of mentality with its "Black Friday sale". It might even be worse at Macy's with the "aspirational" shoppers.
Total idiots! You must be pretty hard up if you have to shoot or fight someone over a Black Friday deal! Ridiculous!
