Baby starves to death in home days after her parents died from heroin overdoses within minutes of each other | Daily Mail Online

Quote:
An infant in Pennsylvania died of starvation days after her parents died from apparent heroin overdoses.
Jason Chambers, 27, his girlfriend Chelsea Cardaro, 19, and their five-month-old baby Summer were all found dead in their Kernville, Pennsylvania home on Thursday, Cambria County officials said.
Coroner Jeffrey Lees said the parents had been dead for about a week when their bodies were found Thursday. He said autopsies Friday confirmed that the infant died several days later from dehydration and starvation.
How horrific, but it amazes me the child wasn't taken after the first overdose situation.

Poor baby. Family services did a home visit after the father was treated with Narcan for an overdose and found the home environment acceptable.

Just awful. The only saving grace is the child went straight to heaven not having sinned on this Earth.

What a horrible death that poor little baby suffered. This seems to be happening more and more. It's just tragic.

The rise in heroin deaths in this country are a direct result of the opioid addictions that began with kids having pill parties based on their parent's medicine cabinets. They used to gather whatever and throw it in a candy bowl at parties. Because it was prescription, it was "safe" to them.

It might have started out safe in your parent's medicine cabinet, but when those pills are gone, and that addiction mistress is clawing at you, speaking to you, pleading with you... heroin is right there to solve your problems and ease your pain... and the first hit is always free...

It's a fast ride down. Don't start it with a Vicodin or some silly thought of "just this once". Addiction is a jealous mistress who will take everything from you.
