But George Michael has been addicted to crack and heroin for at least 30 years and by all accounts was having all night parties at his house up until the day he died. So most likely his death was an OD
He died of heart failure, and judging by the recent photo of him showing an alarming recent weight gain, I'm guessing he was on medications that caused him a lot of fluid retention.
Frankly, neither of their early deaths is a great surprise given the amount of substance abuse they both partook in throughout the years. That kind of damage just can't be undone. But it doesn't make the losses any less heartbreaking.

There has been no autopsy so we don't know what he died of. But one of his close friends said he was having all night parties at his house every night leading up to his death and was still battling drug addiction particularly heroin.

He never carried the kind of weight that he apparently had in recent months. And I don't know what you're referring to when you say "it says" ... are you referring to a particular story?

Yes, and Carrie Fisher was into drugs big time, as well. Now, both gone in their 50s. Gee, I wonder if drugs had anything to do with their deaths?
I wish these folks would face reality about the long-term dangers of drugs. We wouldn't lose them so early.
Celebrities always die in threes. Within 3 days of each other. Who will be the third? On the average, 151,600 people die every day. Celebrities count in that figure, exactly the same as anyone else.
As sad as this is I'm not really surprised. Carrie was pretty open about a lot of self destructive tendancies in her life.
Rest In Peace Carrie.
