I bet if a certain religion (wink wink) refused to follow a law or rule in America, some of the same people here sympathizing with the Amish would then mock these followers and tell them to go take a hike (out of America) if they don't want to follow rules.
Only for those dastardly neighbors who feed them. Maybe the bird seed manufacturers will include a package of free birdie diapers in every 5 lb. bag of seed.
Why leave it to your already annoyed imagination? Why not make an effort to find out?
Because the idea that some cosmic overseer will be displeased if you put a poop sack under your horse's ass while it's on public roads is so ludicrous that it's not worth trying to discern if there's any rational basis for believing it.

Let's get back to reality a little. The quote from the original article about the device itself being against anyone's religion is something that has been made up along the way. God doesn't care if horses wear diapers, and the Amish are well aware of this. The reason the Amish don't want to use these things is that not every horse will tolerate something like this.
Where the religious infringement comes in is the fact that this law essentially only applies to the Amish. I don't really think they'll get anywhere with that argument despite the fact that it's essentially true, but it's about all they've got to go with.
so what did people do back before cars were invented??
They were so busy with chores, raising the kids themselves, traveling back and forth, that they didn't have time to harp about horse poop!

Sorry, people are still dying by the thousands of preventable diseases, cancers of all types, AIDS, with 3rd world diseases brought into the country that were a thing of the past. I'll think you find that it was not horse poop that was causing polio, smallpox or any other diseases.
Ever see what the germs they find on shopping carts and the seats of movie theaters? Imagine the door knob on the public bathroom. Going to workout at a gym.
I'm in on bird diapers though and there, you really have the opportunity to have a direct hit!
1.Why is one group of animals pooping a problem and another group doing the same thing not a problem?
2. Show me the problem.
3. I have no idea what your talking about.
#1: We can't control wild animals. We can control, to a large extent, domesticated animals.
#2. Can you read? Many posts in this thread have clearly stated the problem.
#3. Pertains to this quote from your post: "What are we going to do about wild animal feces on roads, or dead animals, and trash. Lets not forget about cleaning up after the human animals."

When people start saddling up emus and ostriches, then you may have a point.
