There is something wrong with this story. It made news for a few days, then disappeared. There is nothing about charges, a trial, or any disposition.
Was this a hoax? Was she released? I searched, but found nothing after August of last year.
Your post spurred me to google a bit...not a lot. And while death by sodium has happened to children...I cant find anything on this story to make it seem real. But what is most disturbing...if it was fake news, there are no retractions on the first 3 pages of google on the story.
Terrible, what a horrible and selfish thing to do.
It will be a plea-deal, via slick-lawyers and psychologists, spinning-tales about the perp being some sort of unwilling victim in this whole "incident" 15 years for manslaughter, out in 5 to 8 years.
I was curious enough to go search the criminal docket, and it is still a pending case. (Yes, I'm a lawyer so I thought to do this, but it's publicly available information)
Still doesn't explain that website reposting an old story without any clarification on the dates, and it also seems curious to me that local media hasn't provided any updates on something which I would have thought would have been public interest. But charges are pending and while it's been slow moving, there was activity as recently as a couple of weeks ago.
