They were talking about drugs in addition to the pot. It's a fact that pot was the only illegal drug found in his system.

It's a FACT that ONLY TRACE AMOUNTS of cannabis were found, not ACTIVE metabolites. You are out right lying when you say that he smoked pot then killed these people. ALCOHOL was found in his system.
I didn't know about this detail, between leaving the restaurant, returning and finally leaving again. There is something seriously wrong with this guy mentally. He should not be let out.

His tox screen was negative for illegal drugs, although some hallucinogenics can't be detected in urine or blood tests. They can be detected in hair analysis.
It sounds like classic schizophrenia onset; he had been demonstrating unusual behaviors for several weeks prior to the attack & had reported having hallucinations. Schizophrenia can be tricky for parents to spot because it commonly will start between ages 18-30 with the majority between 18-21. This is the age most kids are going off to college, moving out, joining the military, etc ... and family may not have the chance to observe the behavior until something tragic happens.
This guy had no drugs in his system other than a trace amount of pot. Let's be honest. The trace of pot didn't make him eat those faces.
Too many people also try to blame mental illness when no other source is found. That's shameful to the truly mentally ill people who struggle to find normalcy in their lives through medication and counseling. Our mentally ill don't deserve more stigma than what is already put upon them by ignorant people.
Blame Evil. If there is a God, there is also an Evil counterpart that no one wants to talk about. Just as some people submit themselves to God to do good, others give themselves to "the other guy" to do evil. This man is evil to the core to do what he did. Stop trying to blame it on something else. If he doesn't die in prison, we're all screwed.
This piece of crap should never be let out of prison. He attacked & seriously injured two completely innocent people without provocation - there was no reason for this. Whether he's insane or whether drugs were involved, it doesn't matter. He's a threat to others & should never be able to walk free.
I'm sick & tired of our criminal justice system coddling these scum-bags & eventually letting them go free, where they just go out & do something horrible again (in many cases worse than what they did before).
