If that is what one wants in their "golden years", then it's out there. A friend who is 1/2 yr younger than me, and once married decades ago and no children, met a man she had done personal asst work for, and they became a love item. Her sadness is that it took so long to meet each other..when they met he was early 90's and he just died a year ago or so...now she's without that other half.

I'm so very content without that other half. I'm whole as I am. One marriage a long time ago and many relationships was good enough.

Oh definitely! My Mom got remarried at age 73; she was a widow of 9 years after 42 years of marriage to my Dad. My stepdad was 74 and had lost his wife 6 months previously after 50 years of marriage. He wanted to get married to my Mom pretty quickly, but she made him wait one year out of respect to his late wife and his adult kids. They had a wonderful late life marriage!

With all the sadness in the world, couldn't just say "what a nice story".

It's not about YOU, and what you're content with. This isn't a thread debating can elderly people find love, it's a thread about two who did.

Good for them.

My aunt, who is now 93, married again at age 67 after having been a widow for two years. Her second husband was 79. They had four wonderful years together before he died.

My grandpa remarried at 94 to a younger woman---86.

My dad, who had all brothers, said "Now maybe I'll get that sister I always wanted".
