That is not to say I think such marriages will always end in death/mayhem/disappointment, but their original purpose is certainly called into question.

I guess I should have been more specific. Did she, at 25, expect him at 69, to be great between the sheets? Nothing to do with him shooting her in the face.
Wow, interesting story. I can only hope when I am that age, if my wife has passed on, that I can find a 20 something to marry me. I can tell you one thing, she wouldn't be the one to die, I would more than likely be the one that died and it would not be from a gun shot, more like a heart attack. But it would be all good because I would be laying down already.
That young and pop out the kid right away made me think that this may have been a mail-order bride from overseas.
If you can put up with the situation and the guy doesn't have other family\kids you get the anchor baby and quite possibly set up for life from life insurance, social security (kid until 18), 401k etc. etc. etc.
70 year old guys probably only have 50/50 of making it to 80 depending on pre-existing conditions etc.

For all we know, they dated for years...really we don't know that much. But I posted amore in-depth article that states the couple were divorcing. The husband had a history of domestic violence towards this woman and a criminal past for assault. Leaving/divorcing is the most dangerous time for a woman to be killed by an abusive partner. Luckily she survived...but it isn't nearly as sensational as people are making it out to be.

People jump to a lot of conclusions.
I said *may*.
This is based on the fact that old men with much younger mail order brides has been a thing in the US over the past decade or two. My friend had a co-worker from Russia that was one.

Really? I'm 48 and married for (almost) 22 years. And if I find myself a widower at age 72, the last thing I'd want is to marry someone in her twenties. Remaining single? Maybe. Having a love interest or maybe a second wife around my age? Perhaps.

Practice makes perfect!
