Mom always told me..don't mess with her purse:

Victim wrestles away weapon, shoots man during robbery attempt on South Side - Chicago Tribune

Odd that the link call her a 'victim' as she is anything but!!

Oh boy she is in some trouble.. This happened in Chicago where the Left rules the city and criminals are the victims and the good folks are expected to duck and cover and hope for the best.

How dare she shoot the poor guy who was just trying to rob her... He probably only needed money for school books...

The only thing she did wrong was to shoot him just in the hand. I can think of three other body areas that would have saved the world a lot of future trouble.

You guys are acting like people who celebrate a guy for betting his life savings and kid's college funds the #5 horse and won. Sure this had a happy ending but there is reason the police say never do this, the odds were simply not in her favor.

I knew a sweet 80-something your old lady who had a guy try to snach her purse and she fought him off. Just started screaming and hitting and kicking him. She managed to keep her bag and only had a couple minor bruises. She was so soft spoken and calm she was just so embarrassed she had reacted that way and knows it wasn't safe. But fight or flight takes over and sometimes we fight when we least expect it.

You're right. After she got control of the gun, she should have just handed it back and apologized.

Hell, yeah!!
Always be smiling and nice....when they ask, Do you know why I stopped you ...you say,
anything but YES...if you say yes they must give you a ticket....learned that from a cop that told my 'sister with the lead foot' on her country roads.
'Ah, not exactly sure'...is an ok answer. I mean it could be bec of a tail light out.

Also, the longer you fumble for your papers, nicely...that is the only time you can be 'human' to them...saying, Sorry, geeze, I know it's here...my wife/husband messes with things sometimes...blabla...find it.....then fumble with something else he wants...smiling.
