I hope they Roast all these famous people who are guilty, literally! No doubt, money talks and lets you walk!

There is a non-written symbiosis of sorts that has been going on in Hollywood for many decades. The awards shows will find a way to gloss over the current news, via a joke or two, or not even mentioning it.
The days are pretty much gone where everyday people become stars.
Those people are still utilized, but they pretty much appear in non-show-biz-based reality shows.
Before you get a major role, or even a couple of lines, I would almost bet that either the powerful people already know about you, or check you out before they give you a whole new persona, that you may be willing to do anything to get and keep.
William Frawley was a perfect example of the old-school actor.
It was only a paying job for him, and he spoke unfavorably of Hollywood any chance he got, to anyone who would listen.
