And then the other board member continued to address her, and was in the middle of speaking when the officer stepped in front of her. Who should better know the rules and protocols? A member of the public, or a member of the board? Perhaps the other board member who was still talking should have been escorted out?

Fontana and Puyau continue to make statements showing they are clueless to how they are perceived by the public.

Amazing. How do you get into those positions and not have an ounce of public relations ability?

And they violated her constitutional rights in the process. I guess for you the ends justify the means.

Because finishing a school boards meeting (which would have finished anyway, maybe just a few minutes later) is so much more important than the United States Constitution.

Some people just can't deal with freedom. Which is too bad, because they are in the wrong country. They would be so much more happier in North Korea.

Officer central to Vermilion Parish teacher arrest has been sued before for excessive force

The deputy marshal who arrested a Vermilion Parish teacher during a school board meeting has already been sued at least once for excessive force.

A federal lawsuit alleges that when the officer worked for the Scott Police Department, a 62-year-old man accused him and another officer of shoving him against a building and slamming his head on a concrete slab.

The force caused a fractured rib and a head wound that required six staples, according to the lawsuit.

The man, who suffered from medical conditions that put him at high risk for "free bleeding," had been telling the officers they were enforcing city-ordered grass maintenance on the wrong property, according to the lawsuit.

Attorneys for the two parties settled the lawsuit in 2016.

KATC Investigates has previously obtained several years of employment data for Acadiana-area law enforcement agencies. Those records show the Scott Police Department terminated the officer in November 2011, a little more than a month after the Sept. 21, 2011 incident detailed in the lawsuit.

The school board and the superintendent claim that they did not tell the deputy to remove her, but I notice that nobody on the board told him to stop when they saw what he was doing.

I think this case highlights two very sad trends: 1) American managerial/owning caste getting mad with greed at the peon' expense. 2) The number of psychopaths in uniform eager to apply excessive force snowballs. A bad combo if you do not belong to either group.
This is a simple case of disrupting a meeting. She spoke when she wasn't called and therefore they ask her to leave. She refused so they had her arrested. Not much to it.

She was called on. At least skim through and get the facts before you post.
