I failed to see what law was broken and if you know what law was broken please let us know . the teachers are holding a rally on Thursday in support of their friend and colleague .Right On ladies and I hope you all stand together on this .
Had a teacher in my former system questioned the raises given the Superintendent or other administrators, including those who were school based, getting raises while we teachers went without for 8 out of 11 years he wouldn't have been handcuffed. He would have been put under intensive supervision and fired for cause with his teaching certificate suspended.
Public education is supposed to be about education.
It's not anymore. It's about bureaucratic administration.
Back in the 1950s as a society we averaged 240 teaching personal for every 100 non-teaching.
In 2008 my state was 140 non-teaching for every 100 teaching.
When you employ more non-teachers than teachers, you're no longer an institution about teaching.
The school district I graduated from and the college I went to suffered the same problems. Teachers would go years without raises, would have to fight for a raise, etc. Meanwhile the administration would hire more people, they would get their yearly raises without any issues.

There were two votes. I forget what distinguished them, but some funding technicality. They had to vote and resolve the first (I guess sub) motion before voting on the second motion on the floor.

Both votes had been completed before the comments and subsequent removal occurred. The first failed around 4:11, and the second passed around 5:50.
Getting all the facts there was a case to be made for the Superintendent deserving a pay raise. But apparently the teachers were also deserving and since it is true that they're the ones doing the most to improve student performance, they were more deserving. The only laugh I got from that unfortunate scene was the officer who threatened to arrest another person who was challenging the officer's right to arrest the teacher. The officer said he could arrest them on the grounds of " public intimidation". LOL, shouldn't the officer arrest himself then?
Locally we had a school board election get interesting a few years back. We, the voters, voted out the head of the school board. Shortly thereafter, another school board member suddenly resigned and they had to appoint a replacement for him. Guess who they appointed... the school board President we just voted out of office. They call these "sunshine laws" where the public has to be allowed to participate with questions and be present at meetings. School boards and township supervisors hate this and do what they can to sneak around behind closed doors or ban the public from attending.
I think this case highlights two very sad trends: 1) American managerial/owning caste getting mad with greed at the peon' expense. 2) The number of psychopaths in uniform eager to apply excessive force snowballs. A bad combo if you do not belong to either group.
