Sad thing is, one of the most intelligent friends I have (and who I worked with as an EE for years) believes in this ****.

I love a good conspiracy theory, but I can't wrap my head around people honestly thinking the earth is just flat

So stupid it is actually hilarious. Even in some far world if it was true, so what? We are still going to bed at the same time and getting up for work like noting changed. Cause nothing really did.

Does anyone in this day and age actually believe the earth is flat? I always thought the flat-earth society was more or less tongue-in-cheek.

If the earth was flat, there would be nothing standing (cats would've knocked everything over by now)

There could be a committee that believes Elvis is returning as a Vampire with an army of killer pickles, and it will grow.
Elvis is in a nursing home in Michigan with JFK

They're joking. Half of the fun is concocting cockamamie arguments to "prove" the earth is flat, and the other half of the fun is laughing at the people who think they really believe the earth is flat.

They don't.

Sweet fancy moses....
Many flat-Earthers, including Sargent, believe that astronauts are actually actors who are part of a larger conspiracy.

"No astronaut has ever been and this is going to sound wild when I say this, no astronaut has ever been on a top of a pile of liquid explosives launched off in space," Sargent purported. "Oh, the rockets go up, sure, [but] there's nobody in them."

I'm still giggling over the concept that there enough flat-Earthers to hold an International Conference.

I wonder if some of them believe that the flat earth is moved through space on the back of a really big turtle.

There was a flat earth conference in my area last November. It had a turn out of 10,000 people over the course of three days. Tickets were $150. The billboards were hilarious.
