A big dog chained to the front porch or front steps. A dog trained to allow uniformed people to approach.

Chaining dogs is illegal in several states, and rightfully so. How would you like to be chained up?

I have a dog dropping in a UPS box on my porch at all times. I also carry a dead laptop in my car for insurance purposes.

Yes. One of buildings we clean had a package thief living there, and we kept finding opened boxes with items dumped in recycle bins. We started storing them, telling management, who contacted the residents, and find out if they really did mean to toss out stuff that’s very returnable.

Anyone else find it strange that many of these "porch pirates" caught on camera are women?

Yes I am surprised about that. There are enough youtube videos showing middle age men also, which you would think people would wise up by that age.

It is like zombies have taken over the minds of people these days. I don't get it.

My state requires dogs to be on a leash or other restraint, if they're not in a fenced yard. If a store owner has them in front of their store, they need to be restrained. There was an incident in which a store owner's dog, unrestrained, suddenly bolted toward the street and bit a passer-by for no reason. Some states are ok with leashes or chains.

According to local news she broke her leg. And yes, they have identified her. I hope they plaster her name and face all over the Internet.
