Evidence needs tested. Then proceed to court if such is necessary.
I've traveled the world and witnessed customs where natives didn't die or become deathly ill when consuming some questionable foods. Particularly in the way it's prepared. But droplets of blood in a drink certainly deserves concern for a human. Protein in the diet can be had in other ways.
I get squirlly around bloody beef or chicken that is served. Yet some folks have a hankering for that style.
I think Starbuck's should at least pay for any medical testing they needed. They could have contracted Hep C or HIV from drinking someone else's blood.
The drinks at Starbuck's are expensive, too. For what you pay, you'd expect better service, not a bloody cup of coffee. If they wore gloves this wouldn't have happened.
I also find a some of the baristas at Starbuck's to be quite rude. There is one Starbuck's in my area I don't patronize anymore due to a rude female barista.
Perhaps Startbucks should have offered the family a million dollars, and took the employees who were at fault out in the alley and allowed the family to shoot them.
That undoubtedly would have avoided any lawsuit!
I don't think they want that, are they suing for a million dollars? Has anyone heard?

I've never seen baristas wearing gloves. They handle food with their hands so it would be a little over the top to expect that.
Unfortunately we live in a litigious society. If someone can score some big bucks on a mishap like this they will. Just look at all the attorney commercials. We even have a radio commercial locally where the attorney says, dog bite, call XXX & XXX. Nothing more than ambulance chasers.
Except that in the case of the dog bite, you are entitled to the owner of the dog paying your medical bills and damages if the dog was not on a leash or under their control. That's not ambulance chasing, that's called in the legal world "being made whole." You're entitled to that, clear and simple.
Let's hope the barista's blood sugar wasn't high or we'd REALLY have something to worry about.
