Wonder if he they will train his horse to check if he is drunk before he rides it again like a breathalyzer interlock for your car.

Looks like the real problem was him riding ONTO the highway, not so much riding while drunk, if he had stayed off to the side, I dont think he would have been arrested.

That would be funny, if it weren't so amazing they survived. You couldn't pay me to set foot (or hoof) on the 91.

There is no "side" to the 91 freeway that you can walk or ride on. Pedestrians of the two- or four-legged variety are not allowed anywhere near the freeway. If it was a rural kind of highway, I'm sure it would be different. The DUI arrest is funny, though. I think you can get a ticket just for walking on the freeway (which no one in their right mind would do); whether you're drunk or not shouldn't have anything to do with it, and this guy wasn't "driving."

I know someone who was riding a bike down the street in the bike lane got a DUI in California.

Yep. Happens occasionally here, too. So does drunken horseback riding. I know guys who've been nailed for both.

Actually both, especially the horse ones, are pretty funny.

I remember years ago watching a COPS type show and they gave a DUI for being drunk on a skate board.

Whew. I thought this was my ex. He was arrested for being drunk on horseback. Weaving down the street, hitting a stop sign with his head... Another time he rode right up to Gruaman's Theater on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood.

But that was 20 years ago....

I find it bizarre that you can be given a DUI for riding a bike or skateboard or horse for that matter.

Public intoxication? Sure....but DUI?

Heck, at that point why not give them out for people operating shoes while drunk.

Just go downtown on St. Patricks day and arrest hundreds for DUI.

Under vehicle type you just write Adidas or Nike etc.

Well, it's clearly about the danger presented to the public.

A ballpark figure for a horse's weight is 1200 lbs. This can vary a fair amount, but they don't come much under half a ton. That's a far greater hazard to motorists (not to mention pedestrians) than just a drunk on foot stumbling around.
