My definition is of gun obsessed includes leaving guns and ammunition where 8 year olds can get at them. You are free to have your own definition but it won't change mine.

Where is the freaking FATHER here?!!I'm so sick and tired of hearing a lot of these stories and most of the time it's a single mother with god who knows how many kids and NO freaking father around! WTF?? These women just don't get pregnant by themselves.If you can't handle being a parent then give the damn kids up!

One thing for sure is that we can't blame the presence of firearms for this incident. This 8 year old was simply using a perfectly legal tool (admittedly improperly) that's no different from any other tool in the house.

The mother is married to the kids' father. The father was at work. He's around.

That was the problem. There should have been more guns in the house. There should have been another gun in the house, so the girl could have used it to defend herself against the gun attack from her brother.
