A clarinetist has been awarded $266,500 in damages after his girlfriend sabotaged his music career by deleting an email offering him a place at his dream school and then telling him he'd been rejected.
The motive for the deceit remains unclear but it appears Lee either wanted to avoid being separated from her boyfriend by distance or she wanted to stop him from going to the school, which she had attended and left mysteriously, for another reason.
How can you BE so mean? I thought the title meant she had done that after they broke up, which is bad enough, but apparently she sabotaged him this horribly while they were together!!

Horrible! He's well rid of her. At least he has some chance of salvaging his career, and (knock on wood) will actually receive some of the money the court has awarded him in damages.

It seems unlikely he'll be able to recover much from her.
I wish there was a gofundme for him. For the first time ever, I'd donate.
I just really hate her.
There are so many "if onlys" in this situation. IF ONLY he'd called to ask on the status of the scholarship after he expected to hear the decision. They'd have said well you declined. And he'd have said wait, WHAT????
Since he's applied again, and is likely even more talented than he was a few years ago, this might be the time for them to offer him a full ride once again.
I saw this in another comment and I agree with it. Don't stay with someone who won't let you follow your dreams. This situation was more obvious, but there are other men and women dating dream killers too.
Sounds like a sociopath. They aren’t all psycho killers. But they leave a lot of destruction in their wake.
