If it was a post that people shared, and it just happened to be picked up by a local news reporter, that would be different. But that's not what happened. She probably had seen similiar posts that were shared and got media attention and decided to go straight for the media attention.

I doubt she regrets getting her 15 minutes of fame.
I thought that actually was how it happened - I know I read that yesterday when I checked the story out so I could answer the thread (I don't know to answer threads just with a knee-jerk thing, you never know what the actual story was). I had read that this Nick guy (can't recall his last name) contacted her. News sources need news, could have been a slow day.

But now as I look back I can't find that original source, and so many of these articles have been changed ("updated") including rights to the original station for some pics, so that part of the story is just hazy. A few say the story was "picked up" by the local news source. Whether she contacted the news or not, I believe her when she said she didn't think it would go more than local, because who on earth would think a birthday party no-show was actual news? The news station wanted their own 15 minutes of fame and snapped up the "going viral" part and there ya go, it blew up.

She knows she did the wrong thing
and has said so, period. People are really freaking out over this as if it personally affects them...and I'm not sure why. I think what she did was wrong but I also know how it feels when your child is hurt. I've never done something like this, or remotely similar, but then again, perhaps neither had this woman. Now she feels like an idiot. I'm not sure why that's not satisfying enough for some. Now it's down to stalking her social media, her work, her own posts, and so on, as if it's just THAT personal. Isn't this woman a total stranger??? It's just kind of odd.

We're having a debate over behavior and actions. Nothing more to it than that. I don't think anyone here necessarily cares about the woman.

You're right, ones job has absolutely nothing to do with parenting skills. (Where did I imply this? )

She "claims" to regret the post. Oh really? That's why contact the news, reenact the party with a full news crew present, and post subsequent posts about it?
When I said she’s not a poor parent I meant a bad parent.

Yep, no big .... kids "forgetting" to go to birthday parties ... happens all the time.
All fifteen of them 'forgot'? Along with all their parents? Not a single child was excited or happy enough about attending a pizza party, with cake and ice cream, to remember or look forward to it? Nobody had a wrapped birthday gift waiting to be given, something they took time out of their day to buy in anticipation of the party?
When my kids were around that age they always wanted to help pick out the present, and they were practically up at dawn and champing at the bit on party day. Have kids really changed that much in the last few decades?

Agree. She knows she made a mistake. All parents do things they regret later on, at some point. It takes a parent to realize that.

Every article Ive read said she took the picture and sent it to the reporter. Every screen shot of the picture is taken from a social media account run by a news station. Even the picture the mom has on her Facebook page was from a newstation's Twitter account.

The only one to post a link to her Facebook page is you. I never saw it until you posted a link. Do you know this woman? Otherwise aren't you the odd one for stalking her social media, calling yourself a PI for locating it along with a video of the recreated birthday party?

All I have to google is 'birthday boy AZ mom sends pic" to get results (without knee jerk reaction):

"But Mazzini said she now wishes she hadn’t sent the photo of Teddy sitting alone in front of several half-eaten pizzas to a local news website, kicking off an absolute frenzy that will continue Wednesday night — when the family goes as special guests to watch the Phoenix Suns take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers."

The father, btw, told her not to.
No ones trying to vilify, just responding to the facts.
If anyone wants to support her, feel free.
