Really? You think a person having sex with a their own child (or other family member) and making it into a video is just about "being horny?" Wow. What a sick viewpoint you have. You should be ashamed to make that kind of flippant comment here. A person having sex with a child, a relative, is about perversion and degradation. It's not about "hormones" or "being horny."

And this had nothing to do with her job, actually, since it didn't occur at school.

The Mercury News article stated the victim was making the videos on her cellphone and uploading them to PornHub. If true, that just mystifies me. Why would she do that? A cry for help?

What is with these women? The underage thing is horrible enough---and then to compound it, with a family member---be it daughter, niece, cousin? If she doesn't like sex with her husband (a colonel in the military---this must be so embarrassing for him), then why not an affair with a woman closer to her own age? Another 49 year old woman would have been less likely to video the sex and post it, so she could have kept the affair discrete and not serve time in jail.

Do you think she was drunk/high? I personally have never been so drunk or high that I would have done anything like this, so I wouldn't know---but it seems like this sexual relationship lasted for a year, so she couldn't have been impaired all that time, every time.

I would think not---more a cry for attention. In a world where famous celebrities have made porn tapes, it would be more like she was just trying to make one of her own---for the attention, getting likes, feeling cool and older having sex. And just because so many young people record everything---every meal they eat. Every workout they do. And in this cased, every time they have sex, even with an older family member!

Unfortunately, it looks like there are efforts to smear the victim. The District Attorney is quoted in the NZ Herald as saying the victim is "sexually active" - as if that matters. The victim is the victim, period. My jaw dropped when I read that. I can't believe a District Attorney would make such a remark about a 14 year old victim of incest and molestation. Unless the article is misquoting his comments. And of course, the victim wouldn't be able to upload videos if an adult hadn't been molesting her to begin with.

She wasn't having sex. She was being raped.

probobly systematic oppression starting from several years ago and now she thinks this type of behavior is normal.

That's odd — do you have a link? The DA's job in cases such as these is to prosecute miscreants such as the teacher rather than defend them; that comment sounds like something a sleazy criminal defense lawyer would make.

ETA Never mind the link; I found it. The NZ Herald is a few steps down from CD's favorite news source, The Daily Mail; in fact, the article was taken from there. I think you took the DA's comments out of context, if they were indeed spoken (I can't find a legit source for this — just a few tabloids). Nonetheless, it doesn't read like an "attempt to smear the victim." That's not the DA's role anyway.
